Former BEASLEY MEDIA GROUP Country WXTU APD, Production Dir. and midday host CHARLIE MAXX is returning to the WILMINGTON, DE market as PD/midday host of FOREVER MEDIA Country WXCY, beginning MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20th. She previously worked in the market at BEASLEY’s AC WJBR (MIX 99.5), where she was PD and morning co-host from 2012-2017. She retains her role with FUTURI MEDIA, where she is TopicPulse and Prep+ Operations Specialist.
In her new role, she succeeds former PD/MD/morning host TYLER DANIEL who departed WXCY last month to become a choral instructor and general music teacher at BEL AIR MIDDLE SCHOOL in BEL AIR, MD.
MAXX was promoted from weekender to evenings at WXTU in 2019, then added APD and Production Dir. duties and shifted from nights to middays in 2020. She departed the station in a round of company downsizing last fall (NET NEWS 10/10/22).
GM DOUG HALL said, “All of us at WXCY are very excited to be working with CHARLIE. Her talent, passion, and expertise will be an excellent start to our next chapter as WILMINGTON’s Country Station.”
Added MAXX, “I am excited to join WXCY and be back in WILMINGTON, where I’ve always felt at home. I love country music, and being able to program a station in the DELAWARE VALLEY with artists I admire and an audience so engaging is energizing! Thanks to President LYNN DEPPEN, DOUG HALL and everyone at FOREVER MEDIA for this opportunity. Can’t wait to get back to it.”
Prior to WXTU, MAXX was part of the affiliate relations team at REELWORLD, and previously spent many years on the PHILLY airwaves at various stations. She began her career at the NEW JERSEY shore working at WAYV and WJRZ. In addition, MAXX served as the AC Editor at trade publication FRIDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK (FMQB). Her career has also included stops in WASHINGTON, D.C., and BALTIMORE.
Congratulate her here.
