Selena Gomez Makes Her Microwave Sing in ‘Selena & Chef’ Teaser: Watch

Selena Gomez celebrated the renewal of her HBO Max cooking show, Selena + Chef, with a silly video about musical microwave cooking.

In a clip posted on Friday morning (April 23), the singer and hash slinger stars in a mock informercial that asks, “are you tired of that monotonous microwave beeping sound?”

Copping to how boring those high-pitched alerts can be, the voiceover asks why cooking shouldn’t be way more fun. Luckily, it can be thanks to the totally not real new kitchen aide: the GOMEZ-crowave by Selena Gomez. Instead of beeps, your kitchen can now be “lit” with your favorite Selena settings, such as “Baby, You Deserve a Treat!” and the “Mmm-mm-mmm-Mmm-mm-mmm” popcorn mode.

All the while, we get to see clips from the first two seasons of the unscripted show, whose third season is slated to debut later this year on HBO Max. According to a statement from the streamer, the next go-round of the series — executive produced by the singer — will find Selena continuing “her cooking adventures at home with a new roster of all-star chefs that will help her whip up delicious dishes.”

As with the first two seasons, each chef will spotlight a different charity in each episode; to date the series has raised more than $360,000 for 23 nonprofits.
